We are a coalition of Newton organizations and individuals who advocate for planning and development that makes our city more inclusive, integrated, healthy and sustainable. We want a Newton where anyone can find a safe, affordable home in a walkable neighborhood close to public transportation, schools, shops, services, and recreational open space.
Coalition members have a wide range of interests: housing, transportation, the environment, economic development, aging, domestic violence, social justice, democracy and more. We come together under the Livable Newton umbrella to support each other and to increase our power and influence. We keep each other informed of important community issues. Coalition members can choose whether or not to participate in any particular issue. Livable Newton is non-partisan and does not endorse candidates, although individual coalition members may do so in their own name.
